February 27, 2017

So before awesome beach time and playing soccer and baseball with a giant PVC pipe thing. We helped Carlos (the blind member) get money and go to the store and to a local comune and that is always fun, becuase he is super great to talk to.
Then we had this great lesson with a guy we found a few weeks ago but couldn't meet becuase he had tests and stuff, but when we met with him he was very different.  I'll illustrate, when we met him he wasnt wearing shoes, he had a big beard and large fluffy hair, and basically Aladdin type clothes except he was wearing a shirt of the same style.
When he showed up to meet with us he was wearing cargo pants and I t-shirt, he had shaved his head and his face and had on hiking boots, I did not recognize him for like 5 seconds, but he was really cool and understood everything we taught and ended up also coming to church the next Sunday and he has met all the members and is really interested in learning more about his geneology as well.

We also had some really good lessons with the delle Foglie's  (a super old couple) they were awesome as usual asking such great questions and just taking in everything.

We also went to the questura and picked up my permesso di soggiorno which is like my license to be in the country for "motivi religiosi" so thats cool.

We also went to find a family found by Australian missionaries that supposedly live here but I think someone got their name wrong because they don't exist, we walked around in the middle of nowhere amongst orchards and dirt trails for hours talking to random strangers and we got really close to their house number but then it was gone.  It is like really hard to find people by addresses here becuase the "street" contrada Casali is actually all streets on one side of the main street that goes on for miles and miles and splits and turns and ends but it is all the same street its terrible, beautiful, but terrible.

For this p-day it was sorella Walch's b-day so we played on the beach again and ate at an expensive american type restaurant and took epic pictures in front of graffiti and stuff, yaaah.

Im doing great, I hope with all my heart that all of you are doing great, keep moving, be happy and always be the best you can be!

So we had travel to a city called Lanciano for a little bit and my companion saw this cat in a window and we got to look at it for a while and the owner told him a bunch of stuff about and it was a good time waiting for a bus to pick us up from this piccolissimi town.

We also had zone conference this last week and it was super awesome to be there and learn and to see Anz. Macdonald again and sorella Barnes from my MTC group. We learned a bunch of great stuff about planning sessions and companion studies and how they work together to help us.  We also got a review on d

ress and grooming mostly becuase socks are really cool, but we must resist their awesomeness.  They also somehow got bacon cheese burgers there and tnat was delicious.
I went on a mini-scambio with Anz. Houseman on the  metro and we did a little bit of finding and that is always fun.

Weather wise it is starting to warm up a little bit now it's up in the 40s now so thats an improvement. We went to the beach again, so that is also super fun even though it is much colder than it looks in the pictures.

Sorella Moro (from Costa Rica) next to a smashed hedgehog... yah?

New Companion Anzio Bohn

February 14, 2017 New companion from California!

So this week was transfer calls which come in at the end of monday (p-day) we had gone bowling with LAquila and did some shopping, Anz. Olsen finally caved and bought a blue suit, then on our way to a dinner appt. At the bishop's house we got our calls Anz. Olsen to Terni to be the Zone Leader there and I am staying in Pescara with Anz. Bohn who is only one transfer ahead of me so we are super young (but apparently there are tons of these happening in the mission because we just have a super young mission right now.
My "mom" in the mission sorella Calio is going to Cagliari but her comp. Sor. Walch is staying so at least I know one other person here still.

We were able to eat with two more member families and visit with another before Anziano Olsen left, becuase they all really liked him.
Then both my mission parents left me and after a long day helping others get where they need to be my new comp. missed his train, so LAquila had to spend the night so I won't be alone and left in the morning right after Anz. Bohn arrived the next morning.

Anz. Bohn is from Fresno Cal. and raced cars in high school so he is a pretty cool guy, we do things a little differently but we will learn to work together over time.

After a long study of me explaining everything I can think of about the area and the people we were almost late to a lesson, but we made it on time and had a great lesson explaining what exactly is the Book of Mormon to the super great elderly couple. Delle Foglie's.

We just finished playing another round of zone calcio so I am pretty beat but it was a great game non the less.

Lamb shishkabobs!

February 6, 2017 Lesson in a car and arrostacini

So I got to go to Laquila at the beginning of last week for a scambio with Anz. Whited. he is very cool and I had an awesome time with him, but after we got to LAquila, a 2 hour bus ride away, he realized his real companion still had the keys to the church and we had a lesson that afternoon, so after some events of climbing in and out of windows onto balconies trying to get in to the apartment church, we decided there was no way and after Francios showed up for the lesson we ended up sitting in his car for almost 2 hours giving him a lesson.  Although the circumstances were odd we still brought the spirit and had an amazing lesson.

A couple days later we got to eat with a member family and the owner of the apartment complex thing in which we live and we went to a house and had arrostacini which is basically lamb shishkababs cooked over coals and it is the most delicious meat I have tasted in a long time, just so good, I will definitely have to make it for people when I get home. So be ready.

We got haircuts again basically the same but the top of my hair is shorter so that I don’t look so much like a ragazzacho, my companion got talked into getting a hard cut part so that was different but it still looks good.

We are teaching an elderly couple that are way too cool.  after we answered a bunch of their questions we actually ran out of time and had to go but when the old wife said the prayer two words in and she was crying and just after she gave us hugs and thanked us for coming and you could just feel the spirit doing awesome stuff in the room, it was so cool.

On the way out today we actually came onto a bus right as a member was talking about us to someone and were able to provide a book of mormon and the member and the spirit did the rest it was totally cool. Definitely organized by god to make take too long in the bathroom in the morning so that we missed the first bus. blessings in disguise.
